Background

The Lesotho Distance Teaching Centre was established in February, 1974 by the International Extension College (IEC) at the request of the Ministry of Education and Training to promote Non-Formal Education in Lesotho by applying distance education teaching methods. There are two main divisions within LDTC, the Materials Development Unit responsible for development and production of self-instructional learning materials for distance learners; And the Learner Support Unit responsible for provision of the administrative, counseling and academic support for learners.
